Records from the Parish of Bruley
These records are from FHC Film #1079860, and
are the Baptismal, Marriage,
and Death records for the Parish of Bruley,
covering the years 1692-1760;
however, I stopped reading at 1743.
Bruley is a few miles North of Toul.
Very few records of surnames from the Princess
Augusta occur, so this does
not appear to be a place of origin for these
families.
I probably missed a couple of very early records
from a period when some
occupations were given after the name, and
I mistook Vigneron (Wine Grower,
a common occupation in this area at this time)
for a last name.

[I take this to mean that Barbe
Aury was a nun who was buried in the Nave
of the Church in the presence
of her closest society of nuns, who didn't
sign in order to maintain
their anonymity. The record was very faded,
some words were hard to
discern, and my translation might be faulty.]
