To the 7 Families researchers:
I searched for the Joseph Noel's home town in
the LDS genealogy room
in Washington in Oct. 1994 and combed the results
for proper dates,
etc. I am going over them again in light of the
7 Family efforts. I
had found the Joseph Noel/Jeanne Gerardin children
in Armaucourt.
Their names were Francois (7 Jan 1714), Nicolas
(27 dec 1716), Claude
(23 Apr 1718), Michel (2 No1721). Not very close
to our names, though.
(A Joseph & a Jeanne Geradin m.28 Jun 1902,
Lenoncourt) Others, also
from Meurthe-et-Moselle are:
>From Froville : ( Short way sse of Nancy)
Children of Joseph/Barbe Louys (sic?maybe Louis):
Joseph Leopold (29
Jan 1701), Dominique (12 June 1702). Children
of Joseph /Barbe Louis
: Claude (29 sep 1704), Nicolas (15 June 1706),
George (21 Apr 1707).
Children of Joseph/Barbe Francois : Barbe
(28 Mar 1708), Sebastien
(6- Jul-1711), Child of Joseph/Barbe Francois
Herviot : Nicolas (6 Aug
1697)
Note: All of these mothers named Barbe could
perhaps be the same. The
problem with the LDS files is that they are sometimes
carelessly
edited or just wrong. They seem to take whatever
is sent to them. At
least the kids of "Barbe" are chronologically
plausible. However,
there may be nothing interesting here except
the fact some Noels were
in Froville.
>From Lagney :
Children of Joseph/Margueritte Natis :Clement
(23 Feb 1720), Remy (28
may 1721). Joseph (28 Apr 1722), Barbe (8 Feb
1724)

Other Marriages of Joseph and places of marriage:
a Joseph Noel &
Marie Crouet, 28 Jun 1702, Blainville-Sur-L'Eau,
Meurthe-Et-Moselle ;
Anne Cuny, (8 Jun 1734), Fraimbois, Meurthe-et-Moselle;
Jeanne Royer,
(11 Jan 1718), Ville-En-Vermois, Meurthe-Et-Moselle;
Louise Valter, (4
June 1720), Foulcrey, Moselle; Anne Goda, (26
Jan 1723), Contrisson,
Meuse, France ; Matia Anna Demoulin, (8 Feb 1728),
Fumay, Ardenes,
France
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My best bet was on Jeanne Royer, or Louise Valter
(above) because of
the dates 1718 or 1720 are timed to have possibly
produced a 16 year
old boy by 1736.
The church records of Ville-En-Vermois are in
LDS film 1077028. Those
of Foulcrey are in film 1170274 & 5.
I did not order these at the
time and the project died.
Does any body know if these two films have been
studied? If not, tell
me how you folks get and use them without going
to the LDS, perhaps a
local library?
I found these and many more in Oct '94. Mostly,
they don't present a
clue, but up to now there must have been a sizeable
number of new
records reported from these towns.
I will sift again those others I have found and
report when I have
something interesting.
