I went over the St Ame' records once again looking
at the signatures of Joseph which were several. On a section of the film
marked with the number 5 there were page numbers. On pages 5-90 thru 5-
95 were at least five documents in the years 1731 and 1732 that had signatures
of Joseph Noël, one page with Joseph, Antoine, and a N. Gerard, and
two pages with Mare Ory. I found that Joseph's signatures were a fair match
to the Princes Augusta signature but inconclusive. Almost everyone who
could write used the same style. Still I found no records of Joseph Noël
after 1732. Redoing the records I have now found a Nicholas
son of Joseph Noël and Maria Remy baptized Apr 1713. I did not find
an early death record for Nicholas. DN
Summary:
Joseph Noel the son of Jean Noel and Margueritte Duzain was baptized Sept. 9 1681. The parents were from Senzie/Clenzie/Cleurie. The godfather was Jacques son of Gregorie Duzain of Bohnam. The god mother was Anne. - page 72
Joseph married Maria Remy whose father was Nicolas Remy of Val d' Ajol, Vosges on April 20, 1708. Joseph was from Celles, Vosges which is just seven miles NW of Plaine in Bas-Rhin. I find four children Anna Marie 1711, Nicholas 1713, Amattet? 1716 and Jeanne Magdaline. After 1716 the births stop. Either Joseph moved from Celles or went to another church or Celles got a Church. There is a film for Celles-sur-Plaine FHC # 1076901 which is on order.
Joseph's daughter Anne Maria anounced her wedding in May of 1731 and wed Ame Robert son of Claude Robert and Nicalle Perry of Champe on June 5,1731. Joseph signed the anouncement so he is still around the area. His signature is on the Princes Augusta List of 1736, but I forgot to compare the two. This will be done the next chance I get.
